My week in Images. Wk 9/18

In a week that saw temperatures plummet and heavy snow cover most of the British Isles in a blanket of white. It was quite lovely getting used to mountain life again, having not long left it behind a few weeks ago. Even though it is unusual for us to have this type of climate for so long, we adapt and it was wonderful to look out of the window and see a winter wonderland unfold.

Something that hopefully is around the corner, 'Spring' my youngest is growing in confidence with her reading and I spotted this lovely little book which had the perfect amount of words per page for her to grasp and read without getting frustrated. The illustrations are marvelous too and very uplifting.

Ah the joy of hand crocheted slippers. I honestly can say that my mum is a marvel with her skills. Every time I put a pair of these on it feels like my feet are cocooned in air and can breathe whilst keeping warm. This image brought me joy as it is the stark contrast in size of my two gorgoeus children's feet, little sister and big brother. Blessed!

The scent of hyacinths can be quite powerful, well to my sensitive hay fever nose anyway. But I love them so, I keep these in my porch window so that they waft their beautiful bouquet upon entering the house.

I recently spotted these growing concept jars in a friend's house and decided that I coveted it so much that i bought my own. It made me realise, that a bit like us, with the right combination of nutrients, love and care we too can floursih in the most interesting of places.

How was your week? Do you see or hear or experience things that make your week?

I'm looking forward to making the most of this cold snap of weather, playing in the snow then snuggling by a roaring fire, before it all changes in the flip of a coin, to drizzly warm days that take on a different need of care. Watching as the garden responds to this renewed warmth and light with blossoms and blooms and outside life will have more of a pull, letting go of the comfort of the hearth and home.

Take care.
