Spending a quiet evening making my own craft stamp which was inspired by the mountain pine trees. Printed onto linen which will be made into small bags.

Whilst we were away it was Valentines Day and I couldn't resist showing myself some love, with this cute purchase spotted in a beautiful shop up a hill where they sell handmade products. This image is taken from the Swiss art of paper cutting and is very typical in these mountain regions and is called "swiss scherenschnitte" it is a very intricate process of cutting away black card to reveal beautiful artwork.

Visiting a local French Market with hot sizzling pork meats. Perfect in the cold morning air! France is unbelievably close and surrounds most of Switzerland's borders. Quite strange to drive from one village and then realise you are now in a French town.

This shop, which forms part of the owner's home. It is nestled up out of the town and is very small inside but once in there and if you look hard enough you can find a few handmade goodies.

It was lovely to see some different sights over the last week and to experience a flavour of winter life in the mountains. I have some beautiful images of this winter landscape and will be writing a separate post about these in my adventures.

A book that I took with me and I am currently reading is 'Sweet Caress' by William Boyd. Beautifully written and quite apt for me with my photography as it documents the life and story of 'Amory Clay' who became the first woman war photographer. Currently, I am at the beginning but it is wonderful to read about film cameras and developing images, it takes me back to my Art College days of the darkroom environment.

Hope you too had a lovely week !
